He is High and Lifted Up, B.L.

I was 48 years old when I first came to a meeting in the local church in Austin, Texas. I had been saved since I was 12 years old; and although my Christian life was somewhat up and down, my heart was always to serve the Lord and to know Him in an intimate way.

The first thing that impressed me about the local church meeting in Austin was that there seemed to be no pastor or minister leading the service. It seemed to me that there were many ministers! It was though most of the people that were there had spent time reading and studying the Bible as well as praying, and had all gotten enlightenment from the Lord to share. And that's exactly the way it was!

The meeting was held in a simple building with simple furnishings and there was no offering plate passed or even mentioned.

But the thing that I have come to appreciate most about this fellowship, is that in everything that is shared and in every ministry material I read, Jesus Christ is lifted up!! I am always directed to Him, turned to Him, encouraged to experience more of Him, love Him more, allow Him to show me more of Himself. Christ is lifted up and no one else!

I have found a deeper, personal, intimate relationship with my wonderful loving savior, and have found a true fellowship and oneness with fellow members that comes from Jesus Christ himself being expressed through His many lovers.
